Since the IPhone can be very bandwidth intensive, and web 2.0 content can be easily accessed, do you think Vodacom will reduce its data rate or provide a special rate for customers taking the IPhone out on contract? If the latter occurs, it would mean us prepaid customers get screwed again.

i dont know but i wouldnt put it past them to just offer the iphone on a normal contract where you still end up paying R2/mb unless you buy your own bundles.
i dont think that there's a big enough market for VC to bring out a new package specially designed for the iphone. you'll probably find the iphone on one of those 500 minute packages so you can pretty much talk for free but pay through your ass for data.

If they can do it for blackberry then surely they can do it for the iPhone?

I've got a feeling the blackberry lends itself to unlimited browsing because of the extent vodacom has been able to lock it down.

Of course it is about time they rethought all their data charges - that goes without saying :)

i didnt know they did it for blackberries... but seeing as they did do it for blackberries, then it would probably depend on the iphone's ability to act as a business phone...
