VCR to DVD

Does anyone recommend a good VCR to DVD converter setup?

Something like Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900 or ION Video 2 PC or ROXIO VCR to DVD.

Anyone used any of these for vcr to pc (DVD) conversion? People seem to have problems
with some of these.

Is it better just to get a digital video recorder and just link it with a vcr?

Recommendations would be much appreciated.

I use a dazzle USB recorder, which came with some decent video editing software.

The most important thing is to have plenty plenty hard drive space. (and time for the PC to render the final product)

Also, if you are going to be using a pc to a lot video writing to DVD's, the faster the PC the better. So maybe consider using a friends fast PC if you don't have one. Rendering is very CPU intensive and will take ages on a slow PC.
