I recently upgraded to 20mb VDSL and have the Billion NXL 8800. My connection keeps dropping after a few hours. Telkom tech has been out to my place and says line is fine. SNR values 25 down and 35 up. Attenuation is 7.8 and 14.1 respectively. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Also does anyone know whether there is an updated firmware for the router as I searched and cannot find anything. Thanks for help.

Thanks for the reply. My line is with AXXESS and my data is with VOX. Im on the fat pipe lite and uncapped bolt on. All settings on the router are correct as per psy clowns instructions in some other threads. At the moment the line seems to be connected for at least 4,5 hours after the tech left and said he "cleaned" the line. Also my cable goes from the wall into the router with no filter so I am not sure if that can cause an issue. I have a filter only for the voice line. Yes I have asked Axxess to recreate the port on various occasions. It helps and the line remains connected for about 2-5 hours but drops again. I checked my session logs with the VOX tool and last night the line dropped at least once an hour. Any help appreciated as techs don't know.

make sure your alarm has a filter on it if its connected to the same line. I had a similar issue where there was no filter and every few hours when the alarm did a dial to test it would cause my adsl to hang.

+1

No filter on cable to router, but everything else on the same number must have a filter.
