Hey guys,

Quick question - VDSL is available in my area. I currently sync at 10meg. My modem is only an ADSL2+ modem.
I was wondering, if I upgraded my modem to a VDSL modem, but still kept my 10meg line, would it sync over VDSL or ADSL2+?

Are there any benefits to syncing via VDSL such as latency etc?

Your VDSL modem will only work on an ADSL line if it supports ADSL failover. Some routers have it, some don't.

Works for me with my VDSL modem. It's a Zyxel that I got from Web Africa since they were the only ones with stock.

Downgraded back to ADSL recently, and it syncs just fine over ADSL at 10meg.

I believe there are benefits such as lower overhead if you're on the VDSL profile, however you'll only get that if you actually pay for 20meg or 40meg VDSL, don't think you'll see those benefits with a VDSL router and ADSL line profile.
