Doesn't seem like there's a whole lotta choice out there when it comes to VDSL compatible routers... don't need anything super fancy, but would like it to have decent wi-fi range to get to all corners of the house.

Am thinking one of these 2 (preferably the cheaper tp link one)

Anyone has experience with either, or can recommend something better?

I have had the exact same questions and went with the Zyxcel from Takealot. Have not had any issues so far and happy with the router.

Can't really answer your question, but I'm interested in the same answers, as I have noticed the Asus router as well, albeit a bit cheaper:

I've bought from wootware before, and can really recommend them. Not sure what shipping costs will be, but presumably <R500.
I'm actually leaning towards this one now indeed ...there's actually another supplier that supplies it to takealot cheaper:

I've used wootware before and they great indeed, but I can't use my ebucks there, so, bummer.

Only issue I have with the TP-Link is the lack of Gigabit ethernet ports, which the Asus does have.
Yeah, that and the fact that there's no WAN port means I can't use it for fibre whenever that happens in my area.

Think the ASUS wins this one.
