VDSL is no faster than ADSL, unless you are like 500m or less from the exchange.
if you cant get full 10mbit ADSL line sync on a 10mbit line, then VDSL wont be any faster.
to find out what your line is capable of, log onto your ADSL router and look for your downstream attenuation. Then feed it into this calculator and it will tell you how fast your VDSL can go
