Ha!

That feeling when you pay R500 per month and your speed makes most FTTH options jealous.

Post your VDSL speedtests.

Why would VDSL make FTTH jealous? FTTH has much lower latency even at slower speeds, and that makes a big difference for web browsing, streaming and gaming. In Cape Town, FTTH must have insane latency.

On VDSL I had about the same download and upload as you, but with over double the latency due to being in PE. My sig has a speed test for my current connection.

I pay less than double that, and get more than double your speed. Why would I be jelly? :P

Because you don't need more than what I have. (besides the upload) why telkom doesn't allow 10Mbps up on vdsl I have no idea.

Doubt you'll notice lower than 19ms in real life so a moot point at best.

Higher speeds can be very useful. Feels great seeing a big download cruise in at 10MB/s.

For me the benefit of 100Mbps is that everyone in the family can be downloading, streaming, gaming etc and it doesn't affect anyone else.

A sad percentage of servers won't give you 7+MB/s download speed, so there aren't too many individual downloads that max the line. Game clients, cloud storage (except Backblaze ffs), P2P and usenet easily max the line though.

You do notice the difference, as the latency keeps increasing the further away the server you're connecting to is. Fibre is epic for gaming.

Don't get me wrong I'd love a 100Mbps line
