Hi Guys,

I have a fine on my name for a registration number that I do not know. This is for a vehicle in Cape Town somewhere. There is no image for the "Infringement" but I would like to see what car it is.

The registration number is CF88232. Where can I find out what car this is, a bonus would be the owner details. But not sure if I will be able to get this. I would be very happy if anyone can assist.

I had the same problem. I got a fine for speeding and not even the traffic department could explain to me how my number plate was caught in pretoria when I live in stellenbosch and on a taxi. I've never driven in one in my life. Good luck trying to find the person
 
Why even bother trying to find the person? report it to the police, and send a letter to the traffic department explaining that you don't own the vehicle.

I have tried sending the letter but they only accept faxes and the damn thing doesn't work on their end. I think it's best if I just ignore this.

Yeah it is a royal pain in the butt!
 
Finally managed to get this sorted. Phoned the traffic dept in Cape Town on 0860 034 637, spoke to a very helpful lady. Told me that I do not have to worry. The fine is not in my name, they just have the wrong cell number. Asked me to send an email to [email protected] and all sorted.
 
I just faxed my a copy of my registration papers to the Cape Town Traffic department and never received anything regarding that offense again.
