Hi

I’m curious on how the vehicle finance process differs between banks

I bank with fnb and they just gave a link and said I should fill out everything myself. Friends with investec say they just give their banker the car details and the Banker does everything.

Do other banks also offer a hassle free process? Is fnb that bad or is my Banker lazy?

Would you rather not rather prefer finance application from dealership if you're buying from a dealership. This way you could negotiate a better interest rate should you choose to go with FNB

Your banker would still have to get some details from you anyhow though?

I got a 1 pager; filled it out and sent it back with the MM code + OTP I think it’s called.

This is with the blue bank

It all depends with how much you have.

Nedbank bankers does everything for you.

I however bank mainly at Standard. The robot does everything for me. However I bought both cars cash. Can you believe I still use a Gold Standard Bank account? I dont see benefits going higher. However from Titanium to Private Wealth the benefits are the same if you read the fine print. You have to spend R20k plus on your credit card average to get lounge access internationally. Honestly.

My suggestion dont splurge on an expensive car. Instead invest the difference in a fixed deposit that pays you monthly.
