Hi all,

Can someone please explain to me in laymans terms what the difference is between a Installment sale and a Financial lease in terms of vehicle finance?

and any other options for that matter

Thanks!

I suppose leasing is a better option if you are going to be replacing your car every three or so years. Nothing will beat paying off the car and keeping it for 10+ years.

I agree. But even better, if possible, would be to save up and pay for the car fully and then keep it for 10+ years. Any payment plan involves a lot of lost "interest" money.

Yes, can we please have a "sticky" or "wiki" or whatever for this, including one for Company car purchase

Well, even better would be to save up R25k, buy a 125cc motorbike cash that'll reduce your fuel and insurance cost with 80% :p
