I purchased a demo vehicle from a Dealership in 2012. Four months later the badge of the model fell off to reflect another model. I took the matter to the head office and the consumer protectorate and never made headway. The dealership went under although the head office is still in the country. I now need to sell the vehicle and am faced with the problem of the dealerships who I want to trade the vehicle in stating that the model does not match the year purchased. So I am being exposed to double trouble and initially the brand head office said that it was not a problem as the vehicle was legit? Any ideas as the consumer council came back years later.

How did they manage to hide the old model with a new badge?

What is the current and old model?

If they misrepresented the vehicle to you, why didn't you lodge a fraud charge against them with the police?

Surely to put a badge on one must take a badge off? How do you stick one over the other?

Happened to a friend of mine. Got an M3 for a bargain, then after a while the badge fell off and he then saw it was a Toyota Tazz. He couldn't believe it!

Perhaps tell us what vehicle it is/was.
