Hey Guys,
I have a bit of a problem I am hoping you can help me with. My boss, Mr X bought a car from a dealership in July 2012.
He WAS given proof of purchase, roadworthy certificate, the Registration Certificate (in the name of the dealership), a tax invoice and a signed yellow form with the dealership information and traffic register number. Mr X, being a foreign national, unknowingly did not submit the yellow form within the 21 days grace period he had. Soon afterwards, the license expired and remained so to date.
Now Mr X, being a "no stress zone" kinda person decided to give me this car (along with all those documents cited above). When I did try submit the yellow form - I was informed the dealership proxy on the form is deceased and new ones have been loaded. I tried to contact the dealership to submit new Change of Ownership forms now - they are so ****ing unhelpful - I often wonder if they know technically the car still reflects as their "dealer stock" to this day.
Anyway, I am now giving up that they will ever assist re-register the car and I am wondering, what avenues do I have to bring the license up to date? Mr X is able to accompany me to Traffic etc, but would they allow him to register it now, pay the penalties and then we can properly transfer it into my name?
I look forward to your response.
Cheers
