Vehicle Satelite Tracking

Whats the best tracking system. I need to put trackers in my cars, but I have heard of them stuffing with the electronics, and causing drainage on the battery.

I've had a netstar sleuth device in my Corsa for 9 years now and it has caused battery drains twice in that time (battery drains if the car isn't driven within 24-48 hours). Replacing the battery every 5 years (as per the maintenance schedule) should prevent this though. My honda civic has had the skytrax system (now part of Tracker) since i bought it in 2006 and has never given any problems or needed any maintenance. None of the tracking systems I've used have interfered with the car's electronics in any way.

I would suggest go for Tracker or NetStar. The 2 best systems out there.

My insurance tells me that unless my car is worth more than R280k they don't give a discount on having a tracking system :wtf:

Time to look for another insurer..

I put Cartrack in after Toyota recommended them. They moved their entire fleet to Cartrack after having bad service from one of the other players. I've never had any problems with them but fortunately I have not had to put them to the test.
