I got my Bakkie's title deed today.

Question though, I see the finance house has added the yellow forms for transfer of ownership and a letter as well as copies of the 2 people authorized to sign off the vehicle.

Do I just take this to the registration office and change it to my name as the title holder of the vehicle?

You take that, and you fill in the blue form, to put it onto your name (yellow is to take it off theirs).

Pink slip, title deed, certificate of ownership, same thing :D

I agree fully

Pink slip? :o

You too young. I think I still have a pink slip of a very old bike I owned. Will try upload it tonight :p

Cool thanks guys. I have never actually done this as I normally just keep the papers and flog the car after a while. But The bakkie aint going nowhere :p

For some obscure reason, its called a logbook... When the traffic department asked for mine, I was like "I don't keep a logbook.." Also known as the NATIS document. But yes, you take the paper they sent you and fill in the Change of Ownership form and they issue you a new NATIS document stating that you are the owner.

Epic, thank you for the feedback guys :)

Gawd... I don't want to do the queues... But what can we do I suppose :p

It's called a Log Book because it used to be this fold up piece of card-board. Used to have a pink slip in as well maybe that's where the pink slip bit came in?

It's actually a Certificate of Registration. But ask for that and most people go :wtf: So we just say Log Book. Although Registration Certificate is becoming more common now as the fuddy duddies move on to fuddy duddy heaven :D

If all the paperwork is in order you don't need to do it yourself. Get some other sod to stand in the queue for you :D

They also want a copy of your ID as well a R120. At least in Cape Town, that is.

Well license disc is behind anyway. I need to go pay that, change address and ownership. @ShaunSA, do I need to do a change of address too or is that part of the change of ownership? Vehicle was originally registered in Jo'Burg, I'm now in PTA.

The change of ownership should take care of that since its in the same license area. Only time you would have to relicense is if you move to a different province.

Fill in your new address on the RLV Form and tell them it's changed before they process the thing. Most times they don't check and won't update it.
