Vektronix is one of the most flexible, cost-effective electronics contract manufacturers in South Africa.
As a world-class contract manufacturer in an emerging economy, we blend the advantages of both
worlds to achieve that distinction.
Vektronix is owner-managed with many years of experience in world-class electronics manufacture and
sophisticated business management. Our management structure is flat - cutting time to manufacture as
well as operating costs. Our project management experience is vast - cutting ramp-up time from
months to weeks.
We acquired our state-of-the-art assets in a management buyout at lower than market prices. So, we
pass those price benefits on to our customers. We use contract labour from a pool of experienced
local workers that we have trained and developed ourselves over the past 15 years. That enables us
to keep overheads down and adjust quickly to changes in customer needs.
We operate in an area with the lowest utilities and labour costs in South Africa. Our physical environment
is structured in such a way that we can quickly and easily expand our existing floor area of
10,500 m2 - again cutting ramp-up time.
For international customers, the exchange rate makes our labour and other costs extremely competitive.
Vektronix prides itself on being a Black-Empowered company, with management ownership, after an
owner buyout of 38% to Yekani Multimedia (Pty) Ltd. in May 2003, providing employment for more than
235 people. It enjoys a Level 4 B-BBEE status and provides customers with 100% recognition for
their Preferential Procurement Element.
