Verbatim Mediastation question

Does the Verbatim Mediastation honour DSTV's "copy once" flag?

i.e. Can recorded content be pulled off for use on other devices such as an iPhone

It seems as if all new devices support that copy protection. However, I can't find anything that confirms that THIS device has it. Also, i've read a couple reviews that say that the tuner in the Verbatim MediaStation is very unreliable. Poor quality and complete tuner failure.
