I got a call from ABSA today but before I answered the phone said it is a verified number with a tick next to it?

But they say they are from the bank and want to sell me a loan...

The number is also a cellphone number strangely?

Told them to get lost, but the first time I have seen on the phone that a number has been verified?

How does that work?

Another twist to a scam. Daughter had a similar call in December, also “verified” number. She said the language was so amateurish that she stopped the call
