Verizon latency

Just received this - might explain sopme of the slow response everyone is experiencing:

SAIX

SCHEDULED TIME: 8 Nov 2007 22:30:00
CAUSE OF PROBLEM: Circuit Upgrade
SYMPTOMS EXPERIENCED: High Latency
SEVERITY: Critical
STATUS: Attending
ATTENDING: Verizon Engineers
ADDITIONAL: Verizon Business will be performing an upgrade on our peering link to Saix. This will be completed by Telkom and Verizon business Engineers at 22:30:00 tonight. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
 
I don't know what is going on but I'm slowly getting very fed up with Verizon. We pay a premium for unshaped international bandwidth for VPN use but we just have to many "slow downs". Telkom unshaped seems to be cheaper these days as well.
 
Telkom might very well be cheaper BUT it doesn't work! Believe me, I've had ongoing problems for 5 weeks and they admitted this morning they don't have a clue how to fix it. I must phone my ISP and ask my ISP to log a fault with SAIX. I ask you with tears in my eyes, when will anything in this country work like it should?
