Hi guys

My pc seems to be vibrating which is making quite a noise.

What piece of hardware is known to vibrate?
Is this a very bad thing or common?

Let me know asap ;)

A vibrating sound or rather like a vibrating feedback like in some games controllers?

Sounds like

1) Fan missing a blade/deformed/damaged on PWR supply, CPU or case fan - vibration feeling like feedback controllers
2) Power supply failing - Vibration sound only (no vibration feeling).

The thing is, when I touch anything in my case, it feels like its the thing vibrating.
But then I touch another thing and it feels like that is the thing, so I can't locate
the exact hardware.

Well my PSU is missing a blade:(
could that be the problem and does that mean I am going to have to replace it now?

There you have it! A fan can be bought and replaced but unless you do it yourself or have a friend to do it, labour would be to expensive. In that case it will be cheaper just to replace the supply for a R100-R200. Sometimes its cheaper to buy a Fleamarket PC case including 400W supply for R150.00+

Ah dam, I just bought a new case:rolleyes:
Haha, how would one go about replacing an internal PSU fan?

Disconnect all wires from within PC box
Remove 4 screws holding PWR supply from rear panel.
Remove power supply from case
Remove screws holding power supply two part case together
Pull power supply case apart
Remove 4 screws holding fan in place
Cut two fan power wires (normally red & black) closer to fan for ease of work
Buy/scrounge correct size fan
Reconnect wires (solder/tape)
Reinstall everything in reverse order of removal

easy use your head:D....btw where is the other blade?

Haha, I recently broke my Q9550 fan blade. Something droped on it while running during a upgrade test. I replaced it with a standard C2D fan I had spare, they are larger than the newer models. Now the CPU even runs a few degrees cooler. :D

Someone must have poked a pen in there PWR supply holes while running! :)

haha i put a dart in mine to stop the fan to see if it was making a noise.
next thing the fan stopped turning.
looked inside and the blade had broken, yay. :P
ah well
Ive got the blade, its metal..
I just found the right size fan but it only has a power cord attached to it.
It does not have the red and black wires attached to it
What now?

Metal? Does not compute. Must be black plastic!

What power cord? There should be two or maybe very three thin wires connected to it. Any pics you can post?

ok on second look and feel it is black plastic haha.
sorry.:o well it does have the three wires but they are connected directly to the fan and then directly to the white piece of plastic, do I pull of the white piece of plastic?
When I cut the wires, to put them back together do I just use that specific type of tape, no physical twisting of the wires what-so-ever?

There is another better way. Remove the old power supply fan (cut wires). Install the "new" fan you have there. Make sure the direction of air blow is correct. Let the wires of the "new" fan route out of the PWR supply case to reach the Motherboard. Now just connect the white plastic connector on the fan wires to the motherboard where you see a spare white 3 pin pwr connecter (male pins) on the motherboard. Better if the text next to it says PWR fan. Then the bios could it could be set to monitor this fan. That depends of course on the Motherboard model.

How would I make the white plastic connector fit through the power supply and then to my motherboard. (What could be an exit route for the white plastic connector)?

When the Pwr supply is open you will be able to use the same exit route as the existing power wires going to the motherboard and drives! It just depends if the wire's are long enough

Can I call you some where? Pm me a number!

Ah, just had a look MB doesn't have the connection. But now If their is a spare White Plastic Connector that seems to be plugged in can I not just plug the white plastic connector from my fan into that one? Would that work?
