I bought this modem, so that I can connect to other networks (otherwise I'm stuck on Vodacom with my Vodafone stick).
If there's anyone who can find any new software or something for this device it would be much appreciated, I've emailed them, but I'm not in the mood to wait for their response. I'm having endless trouble on Win7 SP2 x64 (and Win7 x64 is not said to be "not supported - it works, but very poorly, it's very unstable, but working fine on my Vista SP2 x86 Notebook - but this doesn't help me). And since this stick is (seemingly) only available in SA, the usual 3rd world quality takes effect. No support, no product software, useless.
If I can't get it working properly, I will have to just return it.

Please assist.

Thanks

Why don't you just use an alternate dashboard for your Vodafone stick?

It is a Huawei Mobile Connect E172
The official dashboard for Huawei is called Mobile Partner and you can download it from Huawei's website, but their versions will overwrite the Vodafone software stored on your modem, so rather try the dashboard installer on its own from here:
http://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads/Huawei/Not_customised_managers

Other options:
MDMA [does Connection Management & USSD Commands & Monitors Signal Strength]
Modifying the configuration of the Vodafone dashboard

Thank you so much, I got it working just fine on Vodacom and MTN (I just used "internet" for the APN).

...now just a matter of returning the Victory stick - It works like crap on Win7 x64, so they can't tell me I can't return it since it's not working how I need it. I must just test the Huawei now on my Win7 PC (but I see the drivers I got from your second link has 64 bit drivers).

Thanks a million.
