For some of the owners that may not have seen this sneak in ...

This feature combines a model of your sites solar production potential with irradiance forecasting data from Solcasts global fleet of weather satellites. This feature uses location data as a 4 km² grid, and doesn’t link any personally identifiable information or co-ordinates of your Victron site. This is accurate enough for the solar data while still maintaining your location privacy. We have created a machine learning model that compares historical solar production and the irradiance at the time of day and then calculates the future projected solar production based on the estimated irradiance forecast. This automatically takes into account factors like system sizing, panel orientation & pitch, efficiency degradation, and shading without requiring any user input.

This means that over time the model will get more accurate, even as panels degrade and trees grow. The model goes even further, accounting for when MPPT trackers were at maximum production, or limiting themselves (for example when batteries are full in an off-grid system). In addition to the dashboard estimate, we also have the underlying Solar Irradiance Forecast (W/m²) available as a new advanced VRM widget

Nice. Many of us using that with our Home Assistants and other inverters. Would be cool if all inverter brands include this as default but also then to push that data back to Solcast so they can improve their models

Ye, the HA integration is nice. The Solcast data is really accurate for me most of the time, good to see a big company like Victron also trusts the data.

@LazyLion I've got a Victron query so kinda deviating from the initial topic - do you have 'monitor grid' enabled and do you get a push notifiaton / email when the grid drops ?

I have one set up on my system. Get both push notification and email when grid fails and returns.

Using that setting ?
Or alarm setup ?

That's exactly what I'm trying to accomplish

No, I don't have that enabled, because I have appliances that beep when the grid goes down. I don't really need to know that info right now, but I guess it might be useful to enable it.

I see my "monitor for grid failure" is disabled.

Hmmm, I don't see those same options on mine (to add the Gateway as a device).
Do you mind giving us more precise instructions? If you are able?
Perhaps if you can share a screenshot of what you're seeing it may help.

I've just noted mine as unarmed ... maybe that's why I didn't get push / mail

Ah you have to go on the desktop .... the app doesn't have the same option :/

EDIT : Oh just didn't fit on the screen :)

Okay, to get the push notification you have to set it on the device that you want the notification on.

So open the app and then click on the "back" just above Dashboard. You will see "Preferences" down the list, click on that and then "Notifications". You should then be able to link your device there.
