Hi Guys,

Can anybody tell me if I would be able to make a video-call from MTN to Vodacom? A buddy is on Voda, and is setup for videocalling, as he receives videocalls. Is there something I need to set up on my phone? I am on MTN - 6680.

No you can not make video calls from MTN to Vodacom or Vodacom to MTN.These two networks have to make a interconnecting cost for video calls.

I don't think you can make video calls from MTN to Voda at the moment there's some issues regarding this.

Hi All,

I was able to make a video call with one of my friends on Vodacom. However when I tried with someone else I knew had 3G on Vodacom, it failed to connect to him.

Maybe interconnectivity is currently in testing?

How does one enable Video calls ? Do you need an additional subscription?

You need to have HSCSD (High speed data) enabled on your profile. Most contract users have this as standard (?) but check with your SP.

You need to be in 3G coverage.

You must have a 3G phone with video call ability.

You need a buddy on the same network with video call ability.
