Have not tried to make a video call yet.....
How does it work? If I make a video call in off peak time, do I use my free minutes or is it data steaming? Do I just use the other persons celphone number and select 'make video call'?

Video calls are circuit switched like voice calls and not packet switched so you don't pay for data but rather the time the circuit is active. As far as i know with vodacom video calls are same price as standard calls and therefore count towards your free minutes. MTN charge more for video calls therefore video calls do not count towards your free minutes. Also calling from vodacom to mtn does not count towards your free minutes.

Vodacom's video call rate is not exactly the same as your normal call rates. They charge you a flat peak call rate, irrespective of the time of your call.
