Hey

I'm having trouble rendering some graphics heavy content (dynamically generated) at a high frame rate, and recording it via screen capture at a high frame rate. CPU / GPU, I/O, you name it... it's all suffering.

To reduce the load on the one box, i'd like to output via DVI or HDMI, set up a second box, and capture that as an input on the second box using a video capture card.

The snag is that I don't know what graphics cards / video capture cards are out there that would allow me to do this (and preferably without breaking the bank).

Suggestions?

Thanks Mier, do you know if those are available here?

I saw that the AverTV HD DVR PCIe Capture Cards look like a possibility (http://www.avermedia-usa.com/avertv/product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id=482&tab=APDriver), but i'm also not sure if they are stocked in Cape Town (or SA for that matter).

The search continues...

EDIT: Saw your comment on copy protection. That won't be a problem... i'm generating the content myself.

Oh I misread your comment. ie With the above you will be able to record HD from DSTV.
Can you order online ?

I could order online, but would like to go through a South African retailer (need the card yesterday if possible). Waiting a few weeks doesn't sound very appealing. I've called some pc shops, but they are getting back to me later today only. I'm also starting to call some security retail companies (some stock other Avermedia products).

(Haven't bought from them, but I think some other formites have.)

Thanks Mier.

7-15 working days is too long. If I don't come right with a few local guys today, i'll see if they can perhaps arrange faster shipping. Much appreciated.
