Video Game Script Translation

Hi all,

I was wondering about something related to copyright. If I were to publish a book, and obviously make a profit therefrom, that contained the translated script (say, an English script book of a Japanese video game without subtitles) of a video game, would that infringe on the company's copyright? I do understand that each company copyrights what they would like to and simply wouldn't mind somebody doing that, but some would lay heavy charges on somebody making a profit from their creation.

Thanks :)

I'm sure the company would own the IP of the characters and so of the particular video game.
