Video phone calls - expensive?

I have a Galaxy S3 and my wife has the Note 2. Im going away for a few days and was thinking about doing video calls between us, so my son can see me when we chat etc. Because we both have Samsung Android phones...I imagine it will work just fine...but the question comes in on how much data does it use...or does it even use data?

I assume we will be charged for a normal cellphone to cellphone phone call, but the video streaming cost will come out of our data bundles. Is this correct? If so...anyone have any idea of how much data is used each minute. I mean...if its something ridiculous like 20mb a minute...then its just not worth it...
