Video'ing over the net with what app?

I bought myself a webcam so that me and my friend could stay in touch. So the problem is when using skype it is very laggy! Is there someway with some program to be able to video using a application and entering the ip address? So the it will only be 2 or 3 hops so the latency will drop with about 400ms.

You can never be guaranteed that it will only be 2 or 3 hops. Maybe if you and your friend are on the same exchange/isp.

What speed line you got? Have you tried Yahoo Msgr/MSN - I've seen some good results with those.

I use msn messenger to speak to a friend in netherlands, it works perfectly, very little latency.

I have also found that Sype gets laggy during certain times of the day. Msn messenger works better IMO.
