Vikings

Can we talk about the series here or will we get k@ked on by people that haven't seen it/are not up to date?

Screw those people, if they click on a thread called Vikings and expect not to see spoilers then screw em!

I hate the fact that Radners hair is not longer long, really looks ***.Lagertha on the other hand just seems to be getting hotter and hotter.Eagerly waiting on the reveal of that new character and how he fits into the story, think he might be the new oracle.

I think I'm ahead of you (that is what I was interested in discussing), so I could quite easily spoil it for you.

watched episode 4 last night.

wow, I did not see that coming.

the conversation between Ragnar and Egbert...

all we are missing now is the sac of Paris, then everything that was in the trailers have been aired.
I feel for Bjorn though poor boy.

this is by far my favourite series airing at the moment, but it is well timed.

Vikings starts airing as GoT spoilers and hype starts building up, so it fills that void. 6 more weeks of Vikings.
this means episode 10 will air the thursday after GoT season 5 episode 1 airs.

then we have 10 weeks of GoT.

then there is nothing really of the same nature until Vikings starts again.

Thats cool, i dont mind spoilers because im not that type of person that gets into a huff and puff because someone spoiled a show for me.Its dumb really.

Anyone watching this series? Whats your opinion on it? Just got it, so excited to be starting a new series.

I watched the 4th episode of season 3 last night. Very sad episode, because besides Lagertha, Siggy was the only other likeable female character for me. Really good show, but sometimes I feel like they're just meandering along.

Who was the wanderer?

SPOILER!

4 possible answers; one of 3 gods (Loki, Thor or Odin) or just a story-teller/poet/wanderer.

He was Thor or Loki:

The story he tells of him accepting two challenges are indeed from Norse mythology and they were challenges accepted by Thor, with Loki in his company. The wanderer says that he was both there to witness the challenges and accept the challenges himself. This could mean he was either Thor (undertaking the challenges himself) or Loki (witnessing them).

He was Odin:

Odin, of all the gods, was the one most inclined to travel the earth as a human. Again, this means he could have been present to witness the above challenges as nothing more than a wanderer.

However, even if he was not present, being the father of Thor and the brother of Loki he would have likely been made aware of Thor's escapades with regards to the challenges, so he could have recited them.

When Siggy visits the Seer, there are wolves howling in the distance that unsettle the Seer. Odin had two vicious wolves known as Geri and Freki.

Odin is associated with healing, death, royalty, the gallows, knowledge, battle, sorcery, poetry and frenzy. The ''wanderer'' claimed to be a poet and he was also able to first relieve Ivar of his pain and then ultimately remove his pain (healing). And then there are 3 deaths associated with his presence; the two young boys and Siggy.

Odin, while a human, was know to seduce and impregnate women. This allowed many bastards to claim Odian as their father.

He was just a wanderer that had heard of such tales and may have even witnessed them

Isn't Odin also known as a wanderer - Odin the wanderer? So I'm inclined to believe he is Odin.

I think the series tries to stay as close to the "truth" as possible -where "truth" = realistic fictional. So, I don't think they'll push it with gods paying visits. (The furthest they've pushed the supernatural issue thus far, is with the seers and such, but nothing Game Of Throney.)
Well, that's what I reckon....

My great ancestry is Scandinavian. Apparently my ancestors invaded Normandy.... and then their offspring invaded England...

Should be on the usual places that share these kinda files.

What's your surname?

It is, been watching it. Episode 4 is now on.

Note : You had better start watching, on Hulu they often only have 4 Episodes accessible.

So i checked last night and its not available, watching on smart tv and PS4, where are you watching it from? I guess its not released on those platforms.

Windows HTPC. Think its on Roku as well, will check.

Edit : Have checked, it is on Roku. But only 1 & 2, not 3.

So it seems that you have to watch it on Windows, at least I do.
