As per the topic... it's been about 7 years we are stuck with 4mbps while paying premium bucks, whilst all the others are getting 2x the speed increases every year !! :D

Ok, we did enjoy the fat pipe while it lasted (no longer so fat), but our stone age DSLAM/exchanges are so out of date and we are finally left in the dust.

I'm sure there are lots of 4mbps guys out there willing to pay for 10mbps, but can't get it.

So Telkom sort us out ... now !!

Something very weird to note tho' , I asked TelkomZA if I can get 10mbps like my friend who is on the same exchange just down the road and he said NO!! So something don't tie up (speaking to a techie that works at the exchange, said for sure you can get 10, just request it from Telkom store)... I think Telkom don't even know what their exchanges are capable of if you look at their website.

eh you can get a price decrease though?

Sure not a solution if you're hell bent for speed but tis gotta count for something.

Lol, I'm with you. I live right next to the exchange (literally), so have amazing SNR and attenuation values. In the region of 42 SNR and 1 Attenuation. But doesn't mean much, because the exchange itself doesn't support more than 4mbps (yet, let's hope that'll change someday). As was mentioned though, at least there's a price increase in store for us :)
#firstworldproblems :P

Count yourself lucky Telkom gave you a juicy tit to suck on for so long ..

I've finally been upgraded to 10meg after being stuck on <2mbps for a year & half due to Telkom not willing to maintain my line. Granted I usually only do speedtest.net when I suspect problems, but come complain again when your average of 82 speedtests since 31 Jan 2012 comes to 0.688mbps ..

Seriously, this is what my last 1.5 years with Telkom looked like ..

Sorry to see that, but still now jealous of your 10meg :( Actually I'm not that concerned about download speed. I just want at least 1mbps upload. A 160meg youtube vid upload takes a whole day !!
