Vinyls, Records and LP's Thread

saturnz has demonstrated he knows his shït from his shaft, as demonstrated in certain legendary threads. But since I am gonna claim ignorance and the speakers on my work computer don't work so a video is pointless, what is turntablism, in a nutshell?

Oh I know, was just trolling him because he was a bit rude... I would also actually like to know in a nutshell, yes even though I disagree violently with his setup I'm still interested.

you know absolutely nothing about the setup, like I said you are ignorant and remain so

I do not actually use analogue vinyl on that setup, its specifically setup for beat juggling. The soundcard together with the digital vinyl allows the user to play any track on the vinyl.

If you have any sense in your brain, you will realise that all my vinyl is not actually wasted, but preserved since I do not have to spin them on the setup. The only reason you see my spinning an analogue vinyl in that picture is because I can't find a downloadable album so I listened to it on the turntable.

So you can disagee with the setup, your setup is so much superior I guess. Given you know nothing about my setup and that you attach high importance to your opinions can only mean you are a perfect example of dunning kruger

edit: you seem to want to give off the impression I have no idea what I'm doing, but if you knew anything about 1200s you would know they are mostly used in this setup, sl1200s were bought mostly by people who either were djs in clubs or turntablists as in the clip I posted. In almost exclusively all the cases these turntables would be connected to a mixer- like the one you said was a POS.

so yes, you know better than all these people

sl1200s are also not the best turntable for playback purposes and a belt driven deck is actually better, so I would like to know what you think is the best way to connect a sl1200.

I picked these up this morning. The Screams record is slightly interesting, David Grohl played for this band before joining Nirvana. I'm not a Grohl fan but the interesting link made the purchase worth it.

The other stuff was just to continue adding some "humour" to my collection. I paid R7 for the Madonna- I thought I had to have it because of the reference in Reservoir Dogs.

I also decided to connect my third turntable to the setup, so now I can play analogue vinyl directly through the mixer without the signal going through my computer, although I hear no audible difference it is a convenient addition.
