First step into politics, free ed, budget to abuse a little, bit of travelling, etc.
Of course they don't add value to you, but they are very helpful to those who they are meant for, they helped my niece a lot when NSFAS was giving her a runaround regarding her tuition payments, something that can take you months to sort out will be done in a couple of phone calls from the SRC office, they do have their flaws of course.
Don't be too alarmed by this, such things happen at tertiary institutions and before you know it you are back in class. It is almost part of life there. If students haven't left and gone to private institutions this is what they can expect.
To assist students with anything that is related to the campus life, issues with lecturers, sports, fees, residences, registration issues and anything that is brought as a concern by students. So their mandate is to escalate queries regarding NSFAS?

The same way politics fit into our lives in the workplaces, even though there can be pretences of equality and unity that is always bandied about in corporates. We all have different challenges while navigating our daily struggles in life and whether we like it or not politics will always find a way when we want to further agendas we see as beneficial to us. For an example will Afrikaner students find that their challenges on campus are amplified when they are aligned in any way with Afriforum or FF+? Yes and so it goes with everyone else. It is a much bigger struggle at the end of the day which cannot be confined into university boundaries.Where does the politics fit into this?
Progressive Youth Alliance (PYA). The PYA is made up of the South African Students’ Congress Organisation (Sasco), ANC Youth League, Young Communist League and high school representative body Congress of South African Students (Cosas).
No, the DA was also competing as well as an independent candidate.Geez. A choice between the EFF and these clowns. Our future sure looks progressive.
Hahahaha at the risk of being called out on it I must say I like you![]()
These are students. I doubt they care about VBS.Huge and unexpected reversal. I can't think of what the reason could be. I wonder if the VBS saga has something to do with it.

This is what you get for bringing politics into education.
Politics are synonymous with universities. It has always been that way.

On a serious note, I'm a likeable person with strong views on certain topics (I may change my mind based on a number of factors).
SRC has oversight (control) of all student clubs and societies, associations and movements, and student-initiated events, has a large budget, allocates student parking places, and is the official student voice to Admin and Senate. What benefits does being on the SRC confer?
I paid little to no attention to such things when I was at varsity.
