Does anybody know if there are legal implications in using technology based on voip between SA / Namibia / Botswana and or other countries.

Hi!

If you mean "voip" then I would say no.. since its made legal, thats why we are using it and the ISP's are marketing the product? :o
 
Voip illegal in Namibia, local Telecom bust a ring making
voip calls to the East when they analysed the calls to the
East had dropped quite abit.

VoIP packets shaped severly on BotsNet ADSL network (sounds like Telkom)
and Saudia Arabia Telecom

Should be no problem originating a voip call to Botswana or Namibia
as long as the call is routed via PSTN into those countries and not
breakout into the local Telecom network via voip

Normal landline calls:-
Telkom to Botswana R1.66/min [Voipbuster R0.53/min]
Telkom to Namibia R1.66/min [Voipbuster R0.63/min]
