Virgin Active Fail

Couldn't agree with you more Mila. I've even taken to only going to restaurants/B&B's/Hotels that don't allow kids under a certain age to avoid this cr@p

Never really been bothered by kids - but I can't stand it when someone has a baby with them at a table thats constantly screaming!

:o

guess mila didn't see that one...
Nope :o Not my kinda movie

I even avoid friends with kids. I'm the friend they come to when they need peace and quiet:o

I'm all for new things but I think people should stick to the rule: Kids should be seen not heard...

I find Virgin Active oversubscribes members so it's always a fight for equipment so I gym at Planet Pitness. It's a dump and half the equipment is broken but I never have to queue even in peak times.

Thats a good point, just about everything in my house is top of the range, and expensive, I wasn't excited when my girlfriend moved in with two dogs - and now a few of her friends are expecting in October... ****ty... I've got to move out of convenience distance.

I'm starting to find that at Century City VA - damn irritating, as well as the parking situation.

over subscribing is a huge problem, and they just keep signing people up, the VA i go to has so many people in there I reckon the fire marshall would shut that place down, there is no way that many people would get out of there quickly in an emergency

They will keep on subscribing new members, its a business. Thats why they have promotions in Winter-gyms get quiet and members decide not to ever pitch up again.

I used to feel that way till we had a baby. If we go to a restaurant and he gets a bit noisy we take turns eating and taking him outside to calm him down. Thats why we go to restaurants like Spur that tolerates kids.

I respect people for their choice to breed but should i not be respected for my choice to go to an enviroment where they say in their policy that kids are not allowed after 4 in the afternoon up until 8.:(

Automatically you become a Spur people. Only on date night you will see a proper restaurant again...:D

My younger ex loved Spur - its the only place she'd eat out at - it was a horrible experience  Never, ever, again!

I also had an (younger) ex loving the place. I think the first time we went there I knew it would never work out between us.

it cant be avoided. u will just want kids at some point. and as parents you will want to go out and have a good meal. where do you leave your kids if you can't find a babysitter?

we went out to dinner after a very long time recently and let the baby sleep over at his teachers place. we did not even enjoy dinner and neither did we sleep well without him around.

coming back to the topic of discussion, VA should be informed about the kids running around issue and the problem should be escalated if you dont get any grace from the manager/floor staff etc.

dont you just luv the spice buffalo wings though?:D

We've taken our baby to nice restaurants and generally keep him distracted and quiet. If he gets rowdy one of us just goes outside or to the restroom to quiet him down. I also see well behaved small kids in these places. It's just a matter of parenting.

But back on topic. If kids can't produce a valid paid for gym membership they must get off the equipment. I would actually confront the parents with this.

im only 20 and im all for places like malls and restaurants and hotels with over 12's only.

little kids bug me, you think they are cute, i don't. Not even a little.

The thing is 99% of parents seem to care less, they are out, the kids aren't there issue. so if they are entertained, they don't bother. Then i watch, when something happens and its all like "oeh, how could that happen im such a good parent, you take your eyes off them for 1 second". meanwhile ive watched the kid play on the railing for the last 10 minutes waiting for him to fall off.

maybe i just hate kids :) but wow they bug me, eg. was eating pizza, out at not a fancy place, but by no means a kids playground. The table next to us, had a 4 year old kid. The kid ran up and down the whole time, and the parents never batted an eyelid. So now while im trying to eat, it keeps coming and holding the edge of the table (rocking it) and like looking at us. So eventually i was pissed off enough, i mean i just wanted a nice quiet meal, so i went off at the parents and told them, if i wanted a kid at my table i would have brought one with! then they get all "im sorry, but she is only young, she is adorable how can she bug you' so i told them i dont think your kid is cute at all, and if she is young don't take her out. so they complained to the manager and left, to which about 5 other tables clapped.

so when your at a restaurant next time with your little kid that you think is cute. He is most likely pissing off every other person there.. and if you cant see this, you are most likely "those" parents.
