Virgin data access

I have tried to access the Virgin data service using my Novatel U740 datacard. Initially the SIM code would not work and Virgin gave me a new one. This worked and using the APN "VDATA" I got an edge connection. However the transfer speed makes it unusable. I supect the access point is the bottle neck but Virgin have stopped responding to my requests for support. They initially offered to investigate but since then it has gone very quiet.

Friday 5th August
Carmen at Virgin responded to my post on Hellopeter. She tells me there is a known problem with the SIMS and they are testing a new one which they will let me have on Monday.
Customer care finally responded but they didn't seem to know about the problem with the SIM. They claimed to be trying to reproduce my problem in conjunction with 2 IT consultants. I am not convinced and still find customer care to be of little value.
