Virgin data just ground to a halt ... (MTN is fine :p)

The callcentre didn't know about it. I also had to explain what "data" was  ..

There was an announcement about having trainees in the room .. I guess these problems happen in pairs.

Yep, its ok now, but that did suck cause i needed to send something earlier on tonight, NOT AT 12.23 IN THE MORNING.

Hi CellBel,

Are you still experiencing problems? service has been restored and all should be working fine now.

Blame CellC
Blame Virgin for piggybacking on CellC.

In the background MTN and VodaCom snicker at the minor players

Overhead flies a Virgin Atlantic 747 with Richard Branson laughing all the way

YEAH Bet he doesn't use Virgin

I lost Virgin data last night, then I lost SMS capability ("Message sending failed! Please make sure that you have network coverage.") and now I've lost everything else. I get one bar signal in my house (even when I roam on the Vodacom network, where I used to get at least three) and my network coverage keeps disappearing completely. I cannot make calls, send an SMS or use data. In short, my Virgin Mobile SIM is completely useless to me right now.

I hate it, but I'm back on Vodacom for the time being, simply because Virgin stopped providing me with service. I guess the compliment I posted the other day was premature. If things do not improve within the week, I think I may just be back on Vodacom to stay. Such a pity. I really saw potential for Virgin.

For the record, my phone is definitely not the problem, because it works fine with any non-Virgin SIM card.

Virgin: your network does not exist in Parel Vallei, Somerset West. Please do something about it.

Hi Edwe,

Please can you PM me your number, (VC so we can contact you) and the VM so we can try a SIM swap, but if you are getting minimal signal and not the 'SIM registration failed message' it may be something else, I just want to make certain.

Gerald.

Hi Gerald,

Thanks for your offer, but the problem seems to have sorted itself out today. I suspect the Somerset West tower I normally receive my signal from was down yesterday, but all is fine now.
