Hi all

I've read through all the relevant threads and found a few people with similar problems, but no solutions, so here goes:

I've just bought a VM Motorola V360 phone. Works great with GPRS (Opera Mini on the phone, via Bluetooth, and USB cable). However - I can't seem to get EDGE anywhere. The phone should show an icon indicating when EDGE is available, but I've only seen that once (when driving through Heidelberg, of all places).
Speeds are always only GPRS-ish.

VM is supposed to have quite extensive EDGE coverage (I'm based in Edenvale, Gauteng, but I'm always on the road around Joburg, and I've never seen evidence of EDGE...)

The V360 supplied by VM is EDGE capable (The firmware version seems to substantiate this), so it's unlikely that is an issue...

So what's the story? Does anyone have any ideas?

I suppose you have the normal v360, not the black vodafonelive one. Cause the vodafone one dont show the "E" sign. I am on the edge on Edge coverage. As far as I know we dont have much edge coverage in Johburg. It's a pity that we can't change the network to mtn, cause vm or vc dont have edge in my area, but mtn does.
