Virgin Internet Settings for Windows Mobile Please

I bought a Virgin starter pack for my phone to use for internet (because it's so cheap).

I've been through the forum and tried all the different IP and DNS addresses etc. The settings that seem to work (sometimes) is the APN set to vdata, no specific IP or DNS. In the phone's network settings I had to change the network to manual and set it to @Vodacom. It works sometimes, and at other times the connection shows as active, but webpages don't open.

Is this a setting problem or Virgin's network?

Is there anyone out there using Virgin Internet on a Windows Mobile PPC phone that can provide settings that WORK ALL THE TIME?. I'm using an Imate Jasjar running WM5.

More specifically, I want it to work with Opera Mini.

The Virgin network is problematic and you won't always be able to connect.

It's just Virgin's crummy network. The only setting you really need is the APN (vdata). Leave everything else blank and it should work as fine as Virgin's service allows it to.

If it works sometimes, that's as good as it gets and there's "nothing wrong" with your settings.

Virgin is finally working on my Imate Jasjar. For the past week now I'm getting excellent connections most of the time. It's not as fast as 3G but I use Opera Mini and it's quite fast with normal GRPRS. So for now things are going well. It also depends on the area.

Been there, done that. Welcome to the surreal world of Virgin Mobile customers, where you're connected to the network but you can't send or receive any data.
