A month ago I called in to ask that my account be returned to prepaid. They told me that they would do it and debit my account with R900 this month. So I said cool. But on the 1 st December they didnt debit my account with the R900 they debit it with R664 which is my normal monthly bill when I called in and asked why they told me that was the system and I had to manually pay the amount outstanding. This made me cross and I told them that I going to to the bank to put a stop on my debit order and that I would settle the R164 oweing to them. They told me that I would have to still pay the R500 and threated to black list me if I didnt.Know I got no pay the outstanding amount on the handset but I dont want the Airtime as I want to goto Vodacom. Furthermore the woman from last month messed up.

Furthermore I ask to speak to a supivisor and they told me I could speak to one as they are all busy

I will pay the R164 over to Virgin no prblem but I refuse to the pay the R500 as the woman last month information was incorrect. I want a written apologie from the woman for threatning to blacklist me.

Please ask if anyone from virgin see this call me 0728118031

Hey jbaillie, I tried giving you a call on that number, but it says "subscriber unavailable".

jbaillie, I heard someone has contacted you from Virgin Mobile. Hopefully your query has been resolved. Shout if you have any other issues.

I very glad that Virgin mobile did respond to me and let hope the problem is solved well done Virgin mobile I impressed that you did actually get it right this time. I certainly will use this forum should I have a problem in the future again

i also thought Virgin mobile was terrible. Then i joined another network. Now I'm feeling really blue :(

Good to see them sorting out your issues.

This is not good enough yesterday I spoke joan harrison and made the final payment to Virgin today I have repeatable tried to get hold joan to find out why the issue has not been sorted as she said she would sort it out as soon she go the proof of payment I also asked her to call me back if she didnt get the payment. I would really like some feedback as to where this problem. I been sitting on the telephone to Virgin mobile for the last 30 mins and getting no where no one even know who Mrs Harrison is.

Come on guys the call center is slow its takes on average 20 mins for someone at the billing section to answer my call

I've been having similar problems with my Virgin mobile account, this is just one story of many that I have had with them, at least you got told the supervisors are busy, the general response I get when I ask for them at the call centre is that there are no supervisors and no one is in charge after a 15 minute argument I generally get put through to one though ... anyway ... I was told my contract was up and I'd have to come in on the first to change it to prepaid and that I couldn't do it sooner. I went in on the first, but I still got my airtime the next month, when I asked why they said I had asked for it to be changed to prepaid to late and I'd have to pay the extra 150 after about a 30 minute argument where I was repeatedly told that there was nothing that anyone could do to reverse the charge even though it was their fault they eventually said they could reverse it if I got a letter from the shop telling the call center that they told me to come in on the first. Once I had the letter arranged I was informed that the charge wasn't extra and part of my 24th month, even though the same consultant had been explaining that it would be my 25th payment the day before. I then spoke to some one else who proceeded to argue with me that I still had about 11 months left on my contract and then hung up on me when I asked to speak to a supervisor. This is when I gave up and just accepted I'd pay the extra, I then received my bill this month to see that a charge of R970 for a handset buy out had been debited from my account, after waiting for the call center for 25 minutes listening to some one telling me that customers are the most important thing for virgin mobile, I was informed that is was an error and I would get my money credited again, a mistake like that should not have happened in the first place.

The Virgin mobile call center is a complete joke, 9 times out of 10 the consultant is rude and has no idea what they are talking about, when you phone back and ask for the same consultant they are alway's on lunch or on team building some where, and the claim that there are no supervisors there is utter nonsense. The average waiting time of 20 minutes is beyond unacceptable and the only time some one is willing to help is when a complaint is made public, on a popular blog or a site like this, then all of a sudden they are happy to help to make themselves look good.

Unfortunitly helping the odd person here and there that makes it public is just not good enough, maybe it's just me but I don't hear or read many good things, if any, about Virgin mobile these day's, they need to step up and start sorting things out, starting with the insane waiting time for the call center.

@Smileyjoe - can you PM me your cellnumber? I'd really like to get someone to call you and try and sort out your billing issue too.

@jbaillie - I'm on to it - will give you a call ASAP.

Hopefully we can resolve these issues! I do understand the frustration that one has to deal with when call centres take forever to answer calls - will try and see what we can do.

Thanks

Thanks for the response, apparently it's being sorted I'll have to wait for my next bill, if it isn't sorted I'll pm you my number

Hi my number is know off Virgin mobile and I want to settle my bill please can someone call me regarding this

I'm just curious as to why I hear someone else's voice (I've heard people speak in African languages before, Russian and who knows what else), when a friend calls me. I've even phoned someone and instead of hearing a ringing, I hear someone speaking...
What the what?...

Are you on Virgin Mobile? Not sure why this would happen on a cellular network, as it usually happens with crossed lines on a landline.

When was the last time this happened?

NSA are tapping your phone. Really.

True, but also remember that the cellphone networks use portions of Telkom landlines as backhaul capability for their networks.. that is why there is an interconnect rate.
