so how to you interpret the part "... have a further 25 days at the end of every month ...".

If what you said above is the case, then you can't have further 25 days at the end of EVERY month, because there will be only "one" FURTHER 25 days at the end of the first 3 months, and ONLY 25 days thereafter!
Say you buy something on July 1 - you've go until August 25th to pay the amount in full before it starts incurring interest. Most credit cards work this way afaik.

So it is roughly 55 days from the date of purchase.

I would interpret it as you would normally have the month to settle the balances and they are giving you an extra 25 days after that. So thats probably 55 days... like other banks?

Edit: Ah bwana beat me to it.

swordfish1 : It is the first three months after cc is issued

that is correct, but I see no mentioning of the "up to 55 days interest free" on their web site?!

And this still doesn't answer my question about the further 25 days at the end of every month.

I got the Credit Card

But Virgin Mobile is a rip compared to VodaCom when you include the phone

so it seems to me that they have worded that statement incorrectly (or at least in the most confusing way), probably intentionally, in order to make people think how much better they are than any other bank! Not a good start in my books!

My interpretation is the 55 days is the month + the 25 days.

I think they worded it badly as it makes other banks who say 55 days look better. Silly virgin.

Have you used their online banking site yet? Do you know if it works with firefox?

icyrus : Sorry, I meant I had applied for the card yesterday. Still waiting on delivery. Will only be able to check once the card arrives

But their sites all seem to work perfectly with Safari, so I would imagine that the internet banking section would work with Firefox

what documents do they require for the online applciation? I suppose you have to fax (or maybe upload?) a copy of your ID and payslip? What else?

Just called them (0860 866 639), they say it is 55 days from the time you make the purchase, or 25 days from your statement date. Does that make sense?

Makes sense - thats why if you look at most banks they say "up to" a certain number of days. One of FNB's says up to 45 days - and another 55.

Virgin is being particularly honest by saying you'll get at least 25 days interest free instead of being like everyone else by saying up to 55 which in fact would be true too.

Why was this moved here? There is a whole half of this topic that is inappropriate in this part of the forum?

Excellent point. This is a general virgin discussion not just mobile - hence the excellent title of the thread.
