Guys, I'm out of ideas so if anybody anywhere can help, please let me know. I have 2 cellphone contracts with Virgin. I called them earlier this year to get exact dates when these 2 contracts would expire as I don't want to renew them. I then gave 30 days notice on the one contract and 60 days notice on the other. One would expire end of August and the other end of September. Today, 2 December, I am still batteling to get these 2 contracts stopped!! I am now told that there is handset fees outstanding on these 2 contracts. How is it possible to still have handset fees on contracts after 24 months have passed?

The bank stated that they can only stop the debit order once and it would cost me a small fortune. If the debit order runs on an alternative date next month it would go through. They stated that Virgin must cancel the debit order from their side for it to be permanent.
