...coconut oil.

So, I've been horrified at the price of good coconut oil.

Turns out if you buy in bulk from Crede, the prices are pretty good (excluding delivery, which I'm waiting to find out about) - Looks like ~117 per litre of this:

I''d like to get a couple, but don't think I need ten... If anyone in Cape Town needs such a thing, please let me know, thanks!

*edit*

Delivery is free. Looking to get ten towards the end of the month. Shall we just round up to R120 for ease of payment?

  • VernD is down for 2.
  • I am down for 2.
  • Anon is down for 2.

So, 4 more available.

What's the price work out to per tub (excl delivery)?

R117 is a good price.

I use this monthly. Can take about two off you if and when you do buy and I know quite a lot of people who uses it so I can spread the word.

How is a plant virginal?

Not the plant, the production. Virgin products are usually from the first pressing; think olive oil.

What would you use this for?

I use it in my tea and I cook with it. Some people use it in their coffee. You can also apply it to your skin and to your hair. It's quite versatile; one of the best ways to hydrate.

I bought my coconut oil from a health shop, it was R62 for 500g.This stuff lasts awhile.

What's the difference between coconut oil and coconut water?
Water is the liquid in the coconut when you open it. The oil is pressed from the flesh much like olive oil is made.

Misleading title >.<

I buy coconut oil from PnP for about R35 for what I think is around 350ml? It's in one of those "honey" pot things. Not sure how bog it is.

I love Coconut oil for general cooking :)

what are the benefits of this coconut oil?

Depending on who you believe, it does anything from curing cancer and stopping global warming to just being delicious to cook with.

I fall kind of in the middle. I'm starting to eat low-carb again myself, and as far as healthy oils go, this is one of the best.
