VIRGIN SIM CARD CRASHED

hi yesterday my sim card just stopped working i dont why, my Nokia N95 went blank, at first i thought it was my phone but when i exchanged sim cards the phone still worked so it was obviously the sim card so i went to virgin mobile store in bloem and they said it will cost R55 to do a sim swap....

is there any way i can skip the charges and get a new sim card?

or could i port my number to Vodacom or MTN

thanks in advance

So you think porting your number is gna be cheaper than R55.
Lol, some people are so cheap.
Pay R55 and get a sim swap.
Otherwise get yourself a new number.

Hello.

I posted about a similar issue that I am having with my VM SIM card. When I put it in an iMate, the phone blanks out and doesn't work. Yet if I put any other SIM card inside, the phone works fine.

I was also told to do a SIM swap by members on here. I have previously done a SIM swap with VM and they didn't charge me. They shouldn't charge you because it is an obvious fault on their side if the phone works with any other SIM card but theirs.

If you get a SIM swap done, let me know how that turns out. I still need to swap mine but I've had no time to do that :/

Man,i love MBB forums. I almost always get the info i need here b4 i take action:)
had same problem, where sim just stopped working lasnyt. I only use it as a data sim, so im not complaining.
just another reason to get that new cell c data plan when it hits durban's shores.
Cant wait;)

feedback on sim-swap...
Thanks to the guys at virgin mobile in gateway(dbn).
Swapped sim free of charge, no questions asked, and in under 10mins yoh.
Anscenic go for it bru- card works 100% and activated immediately.

It seems as if there might be quality issues with VM SIM cards? I have been through 3 so far (since 2008) and I refuse to buy another one. They were all prepaid but the schlep of letting 100-odd people know that your number has changed AGAIN was getting a bit much. I switched back over to Vodacom, and this SIM card has been with me since 2005.

Just curious, do any of the peeps here with SIM card issues swap SIM cards out with others very often? Maybe the contacts wear through after a while, albeit a lot faster with VM:wtf:
