Virtual DVR/NVR (for my IP camera's)

Good Day.

Can anyone recommend any VIRTUAL DVR Software?
I'm currently using AGENT DVR but it only records in a max resolution for 640x480
Google highly recommends "Blue Iris" for the retail price i can buy a DVR/NVR/ Hybrid....

Suggestions? recommendations?

I'm using Blue Iris (one version before the most recent one, can't remember if it's 3 or 4) but it's worth it. Can configure most things and very versatile.

Keep an eye out for specials and promos, where you can get it cheaper (that's how I got mine a while ago). Have tried a few other packages but none worked right.

I use ZoneMinder, its full featured and free. It runs on Linux though so might not be for everyone.

Good Day, i am using Windows. I have a Dedicated PC that runs DVR so switching to Linux wont be a biggy..
I have Seen good reviews on Blue IRIS but i can buy a HIK Vision of takealot for the same price...

If you just want vanilla recording then NVR is easier. The moment you want to get fancy with analytics then you’ll need a software based solution
