Im trying to get a "Virtual" landline number (eg 011-XXX-XXX) that would divert calls to a cellphone.
I know that we can apply for a telkom line, have it installed and then redirect calls over to a cellphone, but is there a cheaper alternative or even one that would not require a physical line to be installed? Neotel, VOX, etc?

Mods, feel free to move this if there is a more relevant section for these sort of questions.

This also looks promising: http://todaypa.co.za/
This is a nice service, but at R400 pm, I would rather just get a telkom line and have it diverted. Receptionist isnt really needed.

you can get an MWEB talk number at no monthly charge. If you have the calls forwarded to your cell, you will pay the cell call rate of MWEB. Works like a charm.
MWEB Talk and FNB Connect numbers seem to start with 087 **? Im specifically looking for a local number.

It's for business use - keep being asked for a landline number everywhere, forms, applications etc as they expect a local business phone number.

We did have a landline number that was mostly used for adsl but we now use 3G for data as we're out on the road 80% of the time, so a virtual landline would do the trick for us.

We make use of Virtual Landlines from Kreodata. The prices are fairly reasonable and you can choose a local landline number in any province (011, 021 etc.) and forward to your mobile phone. http://www.kreodata.com/virtual-landlines/

Our get a cheapy VoIP service from any of the dozens of suppliers, eg Euphoria.

We initially looked at Euphoria however the VOIP service is not always the most effective due to call quality etc.

The virtual landlines from Kreodata is not a VOIP service and merely a forwarding service (not too sure how it works though). They also don't charge setup fees etc.

Is there anyone that has used Euphoria before? How is the call quality and service?

We are looking at virtuallandlines.co.za. They claim there is no cellphone cost for forwarding to a cellphone number which I found doubtful. Anyone have experience to back that up?
