Does anyone remember the guy who bought a virtual island for 13700 pounds? (I thought he was totally crazy at the time). Well he managed to make a profit on it in under a year! Interesting reading.

He made money by selling land to build virtual homes as well as taxing other gamers to hunt or mine on the island.

Project Entropia offers gamers the chance to buy and sell virtual items using real cash, a trend which is gaining popularity as the boundaries between the virtual and real worlds continue to blur.

ok thats is really stupid omg

i have it heard it all

ppl paying taxes on a something that isnt real lol

mining hmmm wonder how much that gold is worth

In Project Entropia the money is actually "real". There is a fixed exchange rate for PED to US$ . AFAIK PED is Project Entropia Dollars or something. So money you make in the game, you can convert to cash.

Anybody want to purchase my McJunk Battlefield 2 identity [All unlocks and GunnerySergeant methinks] ?
I'm selling it for - um - well - lets start the bidding at R2.00.

not at all, if you look at some clans (i wont mention the asualt clan) it doesnt matter if you have a pc or not.

I hate to say it, but I play Project Entropia and am a member of the Soldiers Of Fortune society. I have not been playing recently due to ingame changes. It's not a bad game, just too expensive for South Africans.

But can't you make bucks in the game?
