Hi guys...

I've got a budget to burst!

I"ve got an Hons degree in IS and some exp in EA and Solutions Architecture...

I'm looking at some certifications to broaden my scope and increase my ability to perform on projects...

I'm mainly in Infrastructure space, but also in solution design etc...

I'm looking at courses for Virtualization/SOA/Infrastructure design etc...

Anyone on here know where I can get such information on where to get those certifications or just short-ish courses?

I saw in a corporate IT training magazine a list of nice courses to do...but I battle to find that magazine at news stands again...

Cheers

SAP run a SOA academy over 3 weeks. Naturally it is focussed on their products, but the principles taught apply to all SOA implementations. FYI, the academy is more business focussed (e.g. EA and BPM) than infrastructure focussed so it may not be in your field.

The more I touch SAP the more I marvel at how far marketing can take a really ***** product.

The Company i work for offers Togaf 9 training, which is an excellent certifictaion to have, and is recognised all around the globe. If need be, send me a PM and i'll send you the contacts... :)

LOL I have exp with infrastructure thus I'm more bizz focused like you mentioned BPM etc...had some BPM exp and a one day-er training...I've been looking at TOGAF - REAL IRM?...maybe I should test the boss and throw it out there...TOGAF 9 i heard its exp...I had the EA modeling from data/bizz/app down to tech tier and that was kinda good...don't use it though...ja we working on SAP consolidation project at the mo...wonderful words spoken there...lol.

IBM offers quite a bit. I work there @ sandton office, we got some labs where this stuff is done hands on (classroom/lecture based), pm me if you want details

The Certification is a 5 day course, with a total around 18k. . . . So if that budget you need to burst is big enough, give it a shot... ;)
