Please could someone explain to me the reason for some noob to sit behind a PC and create a virus?
Is it for personal Moral gain?
Or for Fun?
Or do these idiots have nothing better to do with their lives?

Simple that noob is hired by the anti virus companies to make said virus.

Do you think all these anti virus programs would make money if people did not write virus's :)

/tin foil hat active :p

viruses/spam etc used to be created from boredom for notoriety etc. It is starting to become a business, zero hour attacks, and direct specific virus/spam/DOS attacks are done for money. Simple as that. You still get the chops who write virus's to be annoying, but the tides are shifting

Someone that agrees with me finnaly

yes it's a well known fact that the antivirus companies create these virii themselves.

easiest money ever

Well you get different kinds of virii

a) Those made by testotarome infected skrip kiddies who think they are cool
b) Those made by people who wan'ts to steal personal data for personal gain - normally trojans
c) Those to find holes and improve security - normally non malicious but often abused by the skript kiddies

etc. etc.

O and then ones made by those just to make a statement

Malware is now written/controlled by gangsters (the mob)

Last year more money was make in cybercrime than illegal drug trafficking.

It used to be teenagers that were bored - now its all money driven

I kinda miss the days they still made cool viruses that actually did some damage and didn't just slow down your PC or network like all the script kiddy crap you get today. :p

eg: Chernobyl
