Good day guys,

Need your help. I think I picked up a Trojan on my PC. I was busy on the web last night when my pc just froze. "CTRL-ALT-DLT" didn't work so I pushed the off button. When I put it back on it loads normally. The desktop loads, then the icons. Then a couple of seconds later all the icons disappear and only my desktop is there. Right clicking the mouse doesn't work. I have to go through the task manager. eventually got the anti virus program to run (found 6 viruses), but it still does the same thing... It does exactly the same thing in Safe mode.

How can I save my data as ALL my stuff is on my HDD (Been meaning to backup to DVD, just haven't had access to my pc).

HELP!!!!!!!!!

If you're worried about your data boot from a linux live cd and get that sorted asap - then worry about fixing windows.

just my 2¢.

1) spinrite from www.grc.com will sort out if it is a hard disc problem

2) reinstalling windows (if needed), copies windows files to your disk, doesn't write across your data files

You might also want to run some kind of spyware/trojan scanner alongside your anti-virus.

Lots of free spyware progs out there, but in general you get what you pay for, so you might want to have a look at buying one.

Best one I can recommend is MaxSecure's Spyware Detector. It seems to have completely cured my PC of all its trojan troubles.

That just proves that malware was invented by an Afrikaans person. Essentially at the end of the day you'll be pulling your hair out, going absolutely "mal"
