Hey guys,

We are planning a trip to USA next year June. We are going for our Visa interview next month. They need a detailed literary for the interview and this is where my question comes in: We are staying with some of our friends, so we don’t have a hotel reservation. Also we don’t want to book our tickets before the interview because they might deny us the visas and then we can’t use the tickets. Has anybody gone for a visa interview recently without flight tickets? What did you take with for the interview?

Thanks in advance for any info.

There are a lot of different things you have to take along to the interview depending on what you want to do. I am not sure what holiday Visa's have to take along. I went for a student visa and needed 5 different documents, 2 from the University itself.

You have to have a form of proof of location, because they want to know where you are, so they can try and catch you working when you are supposed to be on vacation.

There is some info, check around for your visa code/type and get what you need.

Hope all goes well

They specifically say 'don't buy tickets before getting visa' - just do a provisional booking... Give them your friend's address... won't be a problem. Yes, I have and a colleague went two weeks ago...
All the requirements are on their site - and you have to pay for telephonic interview setup - something like R80 for 9 minutes phone call lol.

I think by literary they mean something from the travel agent - a letter from the family where you'll be staying probably wont hurt either.

its best to get all the info they need but when we went they ask for zilch.

Thanx for the info. Spoke to someone and they say don't buy the ticket before interview, just a letter from someone where you are going to stay.
