When you buy vista, do you get the 32 and 64 bit so that you could install one then later swap. I've heard that you could swap like this with premium but I'm not sure how true that is.

Thanks in advance

No, only Vista Ultimate Retail package comes with the 64bit DVD....Otherwise you have to contact MS and they will ship you a 64bit DVD which takes a couple of weeks.

So if I went to buy Vista home or whatever 32bit I could call MS and they would send me a 64bit version?

Yes, the only costs you would incur is the postage of the disk. Or you can just ask somebody on the forum that has got a x64 disk and they can give you a copy. I you are very pedantic and want a disk with all the hyroclyphics and stuff on it from MS, then you just order one from them.

yes and same key will work. I bought 32 home premium and used one of my msdn dvd's to install the 64 with my legit key and its now 64 :)

I bought a 32Bit DVD, and I just copied someone else's 64Bit. Problem solved

Been trying to get a copy of vista ultimate 64 for a while ... its not that easy...

Got a valid 32/64bit liscense

Anyone tried Vista SP2 Beta yet?
Vista SP2 Beta link

I don't run beta software. In some cases it will happen, but in most cases, I wait for the final release.

I will however run Windows 7, but that will be in a virtualizes environment. I can't do that with Vista SP2, and it won't have that many enhancement that I can justify getting a VM up to test it.

Well some people would be very suspicious if I were just to as for a 64bit disc. So if it'll work fine if I just use an original key with a 64bit disc I'll just do that. Anyone know where I can a Vista 64bit disc?
